Spring Recital 2013

The mysteries and wonders of the evening sky have stimulated mankind’s imagination since the dawn of time. City Ballet takes a tour of the night sky and presents the constellations and other heavenly phenomenon through dance and video.

2012 – Passport to Music, a melodious tour throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. From Tchaikovsky to Puccini to The Beatles to Ray Charles, we celebrate the works of musical masters who have inspired generation after generation. So get your passports ready to be stamped as we  journey the map and experience the essence of each traveled country!

 

2011 – Alice! And Her Wondrous Adventures

A presentation of some of Alice’s escapades chasing a white rabbit, sipping from the Drink Me bottle, and attending the Mad Hatter’s tea party. Also, a peek at many other curious characters like the Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, and living chess pieces as she makes her way through Wonderland.

 

2010 – Herstory 101

A chronological celebration from 625 B.C. to the present of the wonderful women who have shaped the world we live in today. From Sappho to Harriet Tubman to Sally Ride we explore the inspiration of thirty females who have made their marks in history.

 

2009 – Pages from Childhood

A re-creation of the tales that provoke our imagination and touch our reality. The likes of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are and Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who will forever engage the child within all of us.

 

2008 – The Sleeping Beauty

A classic children’s tale from the Brothers Grimm and from the writings of Charles Perrault brought to life on stage. Tchaikovsky’s music embraces the romantic story of Princess Aurora and Prince Florimund as they overcome the evil Carabosse.
